David Gillespie discussed what he had researched so far on Credit Card usage at the club’s various events through a credit card reader. He will be gathering more information from other financial institutions. It was suggested by James Mullen the possibility of using Square. They are charging him a 2.5% fee at this time.
Dale Greene was not available at this meeting to let us know what Kramer’s said about being a backup for as weigh station
Kevin Elmore said that as of right now there isn’t a ticket outlet in Rathdrum. He will investigate the possibility of one at a later date.
No answer has been received regarding the possibility of the kid’s help for the hatchery cleanup. Maybe next year.
Kevin said for sure there will be a pump, hose and nozzle donated from MacDonald’s Hudson Bay Resort. James Mullen said we can get one from Sunbelt Rental, the owner is a friend of his.
Thanks to Clint Nicholson for changing the date for the Hatchery Clean Up on the Calendar of Events on the Web Site.
The LPOIC Scholarship Program was discussed in depth and a motion to put the program in place was made by Clint Nicholson and seconded by Grant Hillen. There was a vote taken-the vote was unanimous and the motion carried. This will begin by being for students that will be interested in aquatic, marine biology and wild life studies.
Clint Nicholson volunteered to be the Scholarship Program Committee Chairman.
It was decided that we would start with Sandpoint High School for the first year, 2018. It was also decided that the amount for the first year’s scholarship would be $500.00.
New Business
The Member’s Only Derby Prize Package was discussed at length. The dates are September 16, 17, 2017. Dave Ivy spoke with Mary Thompson about holding the Awards Ceremony at the Captn’s Table and she agreed.
The Poster was discussed and David Gillespie will have a copy of the new poster at the next board meeting. The ending time of 3:00pm-in line-was agreed upon for this derby.
A multi-part motion was made by Clint Nicholson and seconded by Dave Ivy that there will be a $250.00 prize for the largest rainbow caught by an angler, (that purchased a pin at the 2017 Spring Auction), during the 2017 Member’s Only Derby and the upcoming 2017 Fall Derby. After the 2018 Spring Derby this will again be discussed to determine whether to renew this prize for future derbies. The second part of this motion is that there will be a lottery style drawing Door Prize of around a $200.00 value to be given away at the Awards Ceremony. All anglers of the derby attending the ceremony must bring their derby tickets and enter them for the drawing of the door prize. Must be present to win. The third and final part of this motion is that the rainbows caught and entered into the derby must be a minimum length of 28”. There was a vote taken-the vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
David Gillespie gave a short statement of what he has researched so far regarding obtaining a new account at a financial institution that will bring in some interest on a determined amount of the present checking account. He will continue to research and compare different financial institutions and accounts.
