LPOIC May 24, 2023 Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Attending: Barb Gillespie, Dave Gillespie, Nancy Spence, John Spence, Carter Sandahl, Mark Townsend

Membership Update: 216 members
Business:
Discussed Garfield Bay incidents that occurred and how to improve. Have a person that wants to be the weigh master for the rest of this year at least for the bay. There will hopefully be an article in the summer newsletter by Mark T. Dave G. made a motion and Barb seconded it that Dale G. and Kevin E. deserve a big “atta boy” and that they should be rewarded for going above and beyond the call of duty during the scale situation in Garfield Bay. Unanimously in favor by all present.
Derby master comments were that there are more derby masters needed and help getting information out on Facebook and emails sent to newspapers every evening.
Bayview Cleanup will begin at 9:00am on 6/8/23. Meet at Community Center. Need a write up and pictures for summer newsletter. Need a reminder sent out on Constant Contact.
Update on Scholarship Program and goals for 2024: Need an article for summer newsletter and pictures. Also need Cabela’s Logo for newsletter in general. Nancy said that we had 8-$500 scholarships given out for 2023 graduates. Ideas for next year are: a card to go to the kids with the check, possible gift bag of t-shirts and a picture of students.
Annual Picnic will be 7/15/23. Suggestion on ways to improve attendance and picnic was to have one nice big door prize along with individual door prizes for hopefully most of people there, depending on number in attendance.
Members Only Derby: Sept 23, 2023 and Sept 24, 2023Dave G. made a motion and Barb seconded it that the 2nd place for rainbows be changed to $1000. The lack of an awards ceremony will help offset the added prize money. The weigh station hours will be for Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday’s hours will be 10:0am to 5:00pm. Derby will end at 5:00pm Sunday Sept 24, 2023. Unanimously in favor by all present.
New Website Update: Nancy S stated that Jeremy B will no longer be able to help out with this project but that Josh and Brad Shelton would like to help where they can.
Club Clothing Storage: Need to do inventory
Scales: Dave G. looked up scales similar to the smaller ones the club used before. They are 60 lbs and around $200 each. Others were going for around $800. It was approved for him to order 4 of these scales through Amazon and then get them certified with the state.
Carter stated that the storage costs $169 per month-need to set up time to evacuate. Would like to get special checks for Scholarship account-was approved. He will send board format for mailing out W-9s-what his letter says.
Next General Meeting will be July 12, 2023. Speaker to be Hannah Combs from Bonner County History Museum. Next Board Meeting will be June 28, 2023

Nov 18th to Nov 26th (No Fishing on Thanksgiving Day)
