July 2023 Mack of the Month

[Front Rudder]

Well it looks like Mack fishing is waking up a little. I had about a 9 pounder yesterday but didn’t weigh it in because Peter Comstock had one that sounded bigger. Weighed 9.75#. Following right in was Steve Wolfe with a 10.25 pounder 30.25″!! Got the mail for the Club meeting on the way home and Ed O’Hara had weighed one the third that would have been leading at 10.00 pounds. Hopefully the rest of the month will stay busy.

Well that didn’t last. Dale Greene weighed a 11.50 lb. 32 inch Mack on 7-14-23 at Holiday Shores. Biggest of 9 caught. 3 on a home painted Mag Lip night dancer and the other 6 and largest on a Custom painted Mag Lip I bid on at the Tackle Share at the last LPOIC Meeting. It was donated by Marlin Pihl and I will bring it to the Picnic tomorrow.

Well that didn’t last long either! Pete Comstock pushed it out with a 12.20lb. 31.5 inch Mack today at Holiday Shores!

Dale, I’d like to thank you for continuing to raise the bar. It inspires me to fish more (lol). There’s still plenty of month left to catch a bigger one!

Well there WAS plenty of month! Old standby Brad Sturgis entered a more than respectable 19.60 lb. 39 incher at McDonalds on the 29th. Congratulations!
