Hi Fred, great idea. I have already talked to Dave Law and might be able to get him out there for the Halloween Derby at the very least. He is very interested in our club and what we do. As I pointed out before, the more people express their feelings to Q6 News, the better the chance of some great news stories. At the club meetings and through mail and word of mouth, people need to contact Q6 news so they know we care. If we are all to busy to take 5 min out of our life to contact Q6, why should they care? Every member of the club needs to call or write Q6 News and tell them thanks for their coverage. I have told several people that if they don’t care to get involved, why would a Spokane News origination 2 hours away in a different state give a rip? Not to brag, but I got my foot in the door. Now we need ALL the Charter CAPTAINS and the LPOIC leaders to do their part! I will do my part and Dave is willing to help, but we all have to pull together. I thank you for your help in this matter Fred. We have a GREAT chance to go big. Thanks for helping spread the word!!!!!!

Thanks Barb. It was a lot of fun. I hope to get Dave Law to do another segment this coming Sept or Oct when the big fish will be on the bite. I was amazed at how many people watched it. Maybe we can get a few more members out of this, who knows. Dave mentioned our club in his blog, which was real nice. Maybe the club can send him a thank you card for doing that, and maybe write to Q6 news management and tell them how much we enjoyed it. Who knows, maybe we can get some real coverage on the lake and the LPOIC. Just a thought…….

I know, right. Same here, had a nice 7 – 8 pound mac the 1st of June, but I ate him too. Won’t happen again. Well, I guess I will have to weigh in my 20 pounder I am going to catch this Monday and Tuesday. What a sec. lets make it a 26 pounder for a patch fish. Go big or go home!!!!!!!!

Great job Front Rudder. Lake is a mess for sure. I was out Tues. & Wed, Tues. being a better day. However on Wed, I had a hog on for a while, pulling line straight down, never jumped. The Kams seem small, but boy are they fighters. Apexes are working well along with the black & silver Rapala’s. I think with the sun coming out, we will have to start dropping down a bit, but we shall see. That 14 lb. kam is a great start, lets hope for bigger ones to come…..

Hi Bert, good info. A lot of crap in the water, picked up some underwear last week, well, they were clean. All small fish and no lakers. Well, when you spend 70% of your time cleaning lines, thats what you get. Good luck to you, hope you snag a big one. It will be good to hear when people start running into them.

Thanks Fred, I know there is a TONNNNNNNNNN of work that goes into this derby. Everyone knows the effort put in by all those involved. I know its being kicked around, just wondering where it stood is all.

I agree with Wishin. The lake is a mess. The run off is bad this year, but worse than that, the fact that the wind is so light. Which means everything rises to the top where all your flies are, which means every 15 min you are pulling them in to check. Well, thats what we have, another spring shot just in time for summer where the fish are deep and the fish are few. Yaaa. As a safety note, beware of all the floating logs and crap just below the surface. I have fished the last 4 weeks and there is no sign of this letting up. Let me leave on a positive note, with few rainbows and mac’s being caught and the netters gone for the summer (don’t want to bother the rich people and their nice boats), the fish should be growing like never before. I saw a nice pike last week caught by the river, (I wonder if they eat kokanee?) Anyhow, I digress, the patch fish should be a real possibility this year. Well, happy fishing folks………

Ya, I am going out today, leaving Cheney here in another hour. Looks like the wind will blow a little to help us in our quest for the big one. Good to touch base with you. I will be letting you know how I do. Lets catch a patch fish in the same year. Good luck.

Great post TWOGILLS. Happy to talk to you last Friday, reminded me to pay my dues. Wanted to be at the pin auction, but time was not on my side. I hope the tourney goes well and I hope to see more of you in the weeks ahead since out slips are close. My work does not allow me to get into the tourney, but I am sure I will see you latter in the week. Good to be back and have a great derby!!!!!!!
