    LPOIC Board Meeting 5-24-17

    Attending: Dale Greene, Dave Ivy, Kevin DaVault, Grant Hillen, Gale Belgarde, Clint Nicholson, Dave Gillespie, Barb Gillespie, Kevin Elmore and James Mullen.

    Correspondence: None

    Minutes: Read by Dale G. and accepted.

    Mack of the Month: Dale G. corrected April winner to Randy Mikels 19.92 caught April 30. May so far Scott Plue 23.34#  36”.

    Treasurer’s Report: $43,055 checking, State Record Fund CD $6181.62, PayPal $1187.94 and Egg Fund $2119.93.

    Old Business: Critique Auction, Derby and Awards Ceremony
      Auction:
         Pin sales $1945, Items $5915, 14 Memberships, 35 Derby tickets.
         Slip and Troll Eez went way too cheap
            Maybe minimum bids
            Earlier listing of major items
            Pro Auctioneer
            Separate date for Pins and Auction items
            Credit Card Reader: Decided YES
         Decided later discussion on more pins and on paying out extra in both Derbies for Pins
      Order more bags and see if Captn’s Table would like to order some.
      Future Derbies:
         Fee for Member’s Only Derby = $40.00
         28” minimum length, maybe 30” for Thanksgiving Derby
         Five Weigh Stations, Dale G. look into Kramer’s Marina caretaker as backup
         Rathdrum Drug status as ticket outlet: Not going to take part – Kevin Elmore will ask IGA if they want to do it
         New bigger freezer for fish at Holiday Shores: likely, Board further research – Can’t get too big or too heavy
      Awards:
         Grant Hillen says can bring more elaborate PA system
         Photos were sent without background info
         In general went well

    New Business:
      Members Only Derby will be $40 split $30 entry and $10 towards meal
      Next Newsletter Date: July 24 deadline content to Ryan Roslak
      Next Event is Picnic and Election Results – July 15, 2027 Thoughts to get bigger turnout?
      Hatchery clean up date:
         Discuss changing date from 8-12-17 to 8-5-17. Agreed. Need to change Event Calendar.
         Discuss asking Julie Williams for help from the boys at her school – Barb Gillespie will contact Julie and ask her about it
         Might have two pumps. One, Kevin Elmore – From MacDonald’s Hudson Bay Resort , one Kevin DaVault.
      Special Derby: Grant Hillen
         What species: Northern Pike, Pike Minnow, Walleye and Mackinaw. Money and date, etc
      Food Drive: Grant Hillen
         Discuss how to set up, how long to hold it and who can help.
         Twice a year, possible Back Pack Program, bring a can of food to meetings, etc –  Discussion to be continued
      Scholarship fund: Clint Nicholson, Barb and Dave Gillespie.
         Geraldine Meyers is Clint’s High School contact. Perhaps start with $500 yearly towards Wildlife and or Fisheries students – Discussion will continue
         Have finalized before April 10, 2018
      Discussion with Bonner County Museum: Grant Hillen reported Colleen, Director of Museum, didn’t get back to him.
      Gerrard Rainbow Recovery Letter: Clint Nicholson
         Clint will email proposed letter to Board Members
         Public input on proposed fisheries rules ends in September
